October 2023 Face of Great Futures

Dennis (aka “DJ”) is 9 years old and currently a 4th grader at Pier Elementary School. This is his third school year attending the Boys & Girls Club and he enjoys it because “it’s fun and there are great activities to do instead of being bored at home after school. We also get some education!” He added that his favorite thing about Club is the staff members because “they are nice, funny and caring.” Dennis lives in Fond du Lac with his mom and one older sister. He shared that he likes to go rollerblading and play tag with his friends outside. Dennis stated that he feels proud when he is helping his mom with chores at home.

Dennis stated that his favorite thing to learn about in school is math, while his least favorite subject is reading. If he could go anywhere in the world, Dennis would visit Disneyland. Dennis is good at playing video games, and his favorite game to play is Roblox. He added that he has a funny personality and that’s what he likes most about himself. When asked what he would like to be when he grows up, Dennis shared that he would like to become either a “YouTuber” or a police officer.

Dennis’ favorite food is mac ‘n cheese and his favorite color is cyan. He stated that if he had three wishes, he would 1) be able to snap his fingers and have giant shadow arms that come out of his back to walk and jump with, 2) have infinite amounts of money, and 3) be able to make anything he draws on a piece of paper come to life! When asked to share something important that he’s learned in life so far, Dennis stated “Stranger Danger!” Lastly, his advice for other Club members is to “never talk over the teacher, and always pay attention.”
