Baker named Midwest Professional of the Year

The Professional Association of Boys & Girls Clubs held their annual awards luncheon in St. Louis, MO on October 19, celebrating their mission to serve as the voice of all Club career professionals throughout the Movement.  They believe in creating quality work environments and recognition for exemplary work. Each year, the Midwest Professional of the Year Award is presented to a Boys & Girls Club Staff member who has made significant contributions to the work of our profession while in their current position. We are excited to announce that our very own Kari Baker has been named 2023 Midwest Professional of the Year! Kari was recognized for her more than two decades of dedicated service to youth in this community. Of the recognition, Baker stated, “I am so honored to receive this award. I’m passionate about what I do each and everyday to support our youth in the community.”  This award is presented to just one nominated staff member from the 13 states in the Midwest region.

Baker is now the fourth staff member from the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac to take home Professional of the Year honors, joining Pam Sippel, Karissa Schneider and Dan Hebel who won awards in 2020, 2016 and 2012, respectively. Dan Hebel, CEO for the Club, stated, “Kari has embodied what makes BGC staff members so special; a consistent drive to create the best opportunities for kids to learn and grow toward reaching their full potential.  I’ve been honored to do this work alongside her for my entire career.”

Way to go, Kari, we’re so lucky to have you!
