The Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac is always looking for energetic people to tutor and assist at our afterschool programs. Whether you are a high school or college student, Club parent, retired or just a community member looking to give back, you have an opportunity to get involved! BACKGROUND CHECK POLICY
Background checks are required for all persons seeking to volunteer with our organization. Please review the policy in order to understand your eligibility to get involved in our programs.
Program Sites:
Johnsonville Club, Chegwin Elementary School, Pier Elementary School, Parkside Elementary School
Hours of Operation:
Johnsonville, Chegwin & Pier Afterschool Clubhouse 3:00-6:00pm, Monday through Friday
Johnsonville Teen Center 3:00-7:00pm, Monday through Friday
Commitment:
You can choose as few or as many hours as you would like to volunteer. For planning purposes, we just ask that you schedule your time with the Unit Director at the location you choose.
Potential Volunteer Roles:
Mentor/Tutor
We have many opportunities for you to help youth with their homework or work one on one with them on academic games and activities. This is a great chance to form a bond and make an impact on a child’s life. At the Teen Center you have opportunities to hang out in the games room or talk about all the new teen trends.
Run a Program or Start a Club
Have a hobby or interest that you would like to teach youth? We have many options for you to come and start a club or just hang out for a day and teach youth a lesson or a new hobby, run an experiment, get youth involved in a cause, or teach life skills every child should know.
Special Events and Fundraisers
Throughout the year we host many special events and fundraisers. We run family nights, such as our Lights on Afterschool Event and our Multicultural event, where you can have a booth, help run an activity, or serve food. We also hold fundraisers, such as the Corporate Challenge and the Reach for the Stars Dinner, where you can help with planning, running, and marketing these events.
Other Opportunities
Meal preparation, cleaning, organizing, van driver, computer lab monitor, technology assistance, data entry, and marketing. Please call if you have an interest in volunteering in any other way.
