November 2023 Face of Great Futures

Lucy is a 4th grader at Chegwin Elementary School. She lives with her mom, dad, younger brother Charlie (2nd grader), younger sister Cora (Kindergartener), two cats named Jasmine and Hero, and a dog named Duke. Lucy has been a Boys & Girls Club member since she was in 3rd grade and only attends during the school year. She stated that she enjoys coming to Club because she loves hanging out with her friends and doing extra activities with them after school.

Lucy and her Spell for Great Futures team smile for the camera! Fun Fact: this was her 2nd consecutive year participating in the bee!

When Lucy is not at Club or doing other things like singing in choir, getting piano lessons or participating in dance class, she really loves to read fantasy and realistic fiction books. Lucy is good at math and writing stories, and would like to be an artist when she grows up. Her favorite subject in school is writing, and her least favorite subject is science, though she does like to do experiments.

When asked what she likes most about herself, Lucy said “I’m smart.” The most important thing Lucy has learned in life so far is “you should treat others with kindness.” Her advice for younger kids at Club is to “try to your best when things get hard.”

Lucy shared that her favorite place she has traveled to so far is the beach near Sheboygan. She added that it’s a dog beach so she and her family can bring their dog Duke along to have fun! If she could go anywhere in the world, Lucy would visit Paris to see the Eiffel Tower. She loves to eat ice cream and her favorite color is purple. Lucy stated that if she had three wishes, they would be to 1) have 5 million dollars, 2) be able to fly, and 3) have 5 more wishes!

Lucy is such a fun-spirited kiddo and we love having her as part of our Boys & Girls Club family!
