BGCFDL hires Director of Workforce Development

Tera Braun has been selected to join the leadership team at the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac to take on the newly developed role of Director of Workforce Development. The organization is excited to start to grow its workforce development initiatives while continuing to provide the same great experiences that have already been offered, such as the Future Manufacturer’s program, Career Launch and Junior Staff opportunities for teens. Moving forward, there will be a specific focus on four core areas: Career Exploration, Skill Development, Planning for the Future and Work Based Learning. Through implementation of these core areas, Club members will have opportunities to learn about different careers, receive guidance to develop the skills needed to be successful in a career, gain knowledge about different paths they can take post high school, and work directly with community partners to get started in their first jobs.

Braun recently came to the Club from a school counseling position where she worked to connect students with college, career, and community resources as well as support their social emotional development. Of her new role, Braun stated, “One of my main goals is to match members’ needs, skills, and interests with opportunities in the area to give them the best chance of future success. I really enjoy seeing students pursue their passion and am grateful to continue that work in a community setting with the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac.”

The Club is looking forward to contributing to the great initiatives already happening in Fond du Lac as well as providing youth with another opportunity to grow and become successful members of the community. For more information regarding workforce development initiatives or to explore partnering with the Club in this capacity, please contact the Tera Braun at tbraun@bgcfdl.org.
