February 2023 Face of Great Futures

Isabella (aka Bella or Izzy) is 12 years old and a 7th grader at Theisen Middle School. She has been a part of the Boys & Girls Club family for the past 4 years. She believes that kids come to Club because “it’s a nice environment and we have lots of fun.” Her favorite thing about Club is participating in art programs and hanging out with friends. Bella shared that the best thing that’s ever happened to her is when her teacher liked her artwork so much that it ended up being put into an art gallery!

Bella’s favorite thing to learn in school is Science, while her least favorite is Spanish. Bella shared that when she grows up, she would like to work for the behavioral analysis unit for the FBI. When Bella is not at school or Club, she loves spending time writing poetry and making art, and is happiest when she’s with her friends, family and cooking food. Bella added that she has two dogs and a cat at home.

Bella stated that she is good at playing the violin and painting, and she appreciates the fact that she has a large vocabulary and the ability to give good advice to others. Her advice for younger kids at Club is to “always believe in yourself and participate in Club programs because they’re really fun!” The most important thing Bella has learned so far in life is how to take care of herself and be independent. She has also learned how to determine good relationships from bad ones.

Bella’s favorite food is potatoes, because “they can be made into and used for anything”, and her favorite color is sunset orange. She shared that her favorite place to visit is the Wilderness in Wisconsin Dells. If she could go anywhere in the world, she would travel to Paris, France. Bella stated that if she had three wishes, they would be to 1) grow up happy, 2) get her dream job, and 3) have world peace.
