The 11th annual Reach for the Stars Dinner and Auction was once again an unforgettable evening for the organization and its donors and supporters. The event is held each February to benefit the Boys & Girls Club’s 10 weeks summer programs provided to over 500 youth in the Fond du Lac community. Presented by Grande Cheese and hosted at the Radisson Conference Center, Reach for the Stars included a tremendous dinner, unique auction packages and raffle, an inspiring speech from the Boys & Girls Club’s 2019 Youth of the Year, Paulina Lopez (who received a standing ovation), a memorable program delivered by Club youth and centered around the Boys & Girls Club’s five core values (respect, responsibility, belonging, safety, growth), and mind-blowing entertainment to round out the evening.

Over 260 guests, along with dozens of other supporters participating from all over via their smartphones, were treated to the organization’s increasingly popular mobile bidding process which makes the evening even more fun and exciting. Coupled with numerous sponsorships from local businesses and individuals (see below), Reach for the Stars raised over $104,000 in support of summer youth programs. This event marked the largest single fundraising event in the history of the organization.

A significant portion of the proceeds raised at the event stemmed from the summer scholarship promotion. This resulted in a grand total of 157 sponsored memberships for the upcoming summer program.   Of the overwhelming support, Captain Aaron Goldstein of the Fond du Lac Police Department and board president for the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac stated, “We are so grateful for the support and generosity of our Fond du Lac community as witnessed at this year’s Reach for the Stars. We are continually blessed by our community’s commitment to help build a successful youth advocacy organization we affectionately call our Boys and Girls Club.”
