Dock Spiders go to bat for BGC!

The Boys & Girls Club would like to thank the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders for their incredible partnership this summer! Our members, and our organization, have been provided several opportunities because of the generous nature of the team and its partners. We have been cheering for Dock Spider stolen bases all summer as each steal provides a $50 donation via Silica For Your Home. What an amazing opportunity!

We were also blessed with a $2,500 Share the Glove baseball equipment grant via the Dock Spiders (in partnership with the Northwoods League Foundation and Official Uniform & Equipment Supplier, Rawlings Sporting Goods) for our Little Brewers program, which provided catchers’ gear, gloves, batting helmets, bats, baseballs and so much more to our youth baseball program. Our kids were very excited to get this brand new equipment to use. They even got to go to home plate at Herr-Baker Field and take a picture with players to announce the grant award!

A total of 23 equipment grants were awarded this season to youth baseball and softball organizations across the Midwest totaling more than $50,000. The Share the Glove initiative supports participation in youth baseball and softball activities throughout Northwoods League communities and was introduced in 2018 as part of the League’s 25th Season Celebration. Annually, Northwoods League affiliates promote the grant and collect applications from youth organizations in their local markets.

The Dock Spiders were also gracious hosts for the Braelon Allen Charity Softball Game in June where the Club was a beneficiary. Several Club members were provided tickets to the game and they cheered on Braelon and his teammates. As a Club alumni, Braelon does an amazing job as a role model to our kids on how hard work pays off!
