July 2023 Face of Great Futures

Lexi just turned 14 years old earlier this month and will be an 8th grader at Theisen Middle School this fall. She lives with her mom, dad, younger sister and two cats named Denim and Gizmo. Lexi has been a Boys & Girls Club member since she was in 4th grade at Pier Elementary. She stated that she enjoys coming to Club because she gets to hang out with her friends and bother Miss Stefanie at the front desk (just kidding!).

Lexi (pictured center) spends time at Club with her good pals Mya and Evie.

When Lexi is not at Club, she enjoys spending time with friends and playing volleyball. She describes herself as a good person and added that she feels happy when her friends call her for no reason other than to just check in and say “hi.” The most important thing Lexi has learned in life so far is “not to give up when things get hard.” Her advice for younger kids at Club is to “be careful who you hang around and make good choices.”

Lexi shared that she is good at building things in Tech Ed. class, sleeping, and being a good friend. When asked what she’d like to be when she grows up, Lexi stated that she would like to become a private investigator. She added that the coolest place she has traveled to so far is Disney World in Florida. If she could go anywhere in the world, Lexi would visit San Diego, California, because that’s where she was born!

Lexi’s favorite subjects in school are English/Language Arts and Math. She loves to eat spicy food and drink coffee. Her favorite color is green because “it was my brother’s favorite color.” Lexi stated that if she had three wishes, they would be to 1) get more sleep, 2) go back in time and choose better friends over the years, and 3) get free coffee every day!

We love having Lexi as part of our Boys & Girls Club family and look forward to watching her grow and do amazing things!
