12th Annual Reach for the Stars a Record-Breaking Success

The 12th annual Reach for the Stars Dinner & Auction was an unforgettable evening for the organization and its donors and supporters. The event is held each February to benefit the Boys & Girls Club’s 10 week summer programs provided to over 500 youth in the Fond du Lac community. Presented by Grande Cheese and hosted at the Radisson Conference Center, Reach for the Stars included unique auction packages, a raffle, an inspiring speech from the Boys & Girls Club’s 2019-20 Youth of the Year, Paulina Lopez (pictured below), a memorable performance of Andy Grammer’s “Don’t Give Up On Me” delivered by Club youth, directed and led by Deb Fett (newly retired music teacher from Riverside Elementary), Club Alumnus Levi Harris (guitar) and Officer Erik Foster (guitar and vocals). To round out the evening, live performance painter Mike Debus awed the crowd by creating one of kind paintings of Aaron Rodgers, the Wisconsin Badger “W” and a Heart in a matter of minutes that were auctioned off and purchased by a few lucky attendees.

Over 260 guests along with other supporters participating from all over via their smartphones, were treated to the organization’s mobile bidding process which makes the evening even more fun and exciting. Coupled with numerous sponsorships from local businesses and individuals, Reach for the Stars raised over $112,000 in support of summer youth programs. This event marked the largest single fundraising event in the history of the organization. A significant portion of the proceeds raised at the event stemmed from the summer scholarship promotion, resulting in a grand total of 191 sponsored memberships for the upcoming summer program.
