Tilson receives Clarence Austin Award

Sweetness Tilson, a Boys & Girls Club staff member and 2023 graduate of Fond du Lac High School, was presented with the Clarence Austin award while she was representing the Club at Ebony Vision‘s annual Juneteenth event on June 17 at Buttermilk Creek Park. This award came as a complete surprise to her!

Clarence Austin was a leader in the community and empowered children and youth of Fond du Lac with a strong educational foundation. Clarence had a passion for building diverse partnerships with hope of celebrating God’s best in the community. The scholarship recognizes individuals who embody these same qualities.

Tilson is incredibly dedicated to the Fond du Lac community and has a very bright future ahead of her. She plans to attend Marian University this fall to pursue a major in criminal justice and a minor in social work. She was also the Boys & Girls Club’s 2022-23 Youth of the Year. That platform provided her the opportunity to share her inspiring story with others and step into a true leadership role within the Club.
