March 2024 Face of Great Futures

Jade is 9 years old and currently in 3rd grade at Rosenow Elementary. She has been a part of the Boys & Girls Club family for the past two school years and believes that kids come to Club because “their parents work late, the activities are fun, and the staff are nice.” Jade stated that her favorite thing about Club is that she gets a lot of time to read her books.

Jade lives with her mom, her mom’s boyfriend, two Huskies named “Zoey” and “Zeek”, and one cat named “Raja”; she added that she also has two horses and 10 chickens at her grandma’s house. She likes to spend time making crafts, going for bike rides, running, playing on her swings, playing with her friends, and playing guitar (started learning in October!).

Jade stated that she is good at reading, ice skating, gymnastics, and doing hair. When asked what she likes most about herself, Jade said that she can handle hard situations well, and that she loves reading about zodiac signs. She feels happy when she’s playing with her dogs, and her cat (when she isn’t being a “meany”!)

Jade’s favorite subject in school is science, because she loves exploring things. Her least favorite subject is math, because it can be really hard. Jade shared that when she grows up, she would like to be a veterinarian, because she likes to help animals and she thinks there are too many animals going extinct in the world.

Jade stated that the best thing that’s ever happened to her is when she had hives and was very sick, the doctor helped her feel better. Jade shared that her favorite place to visit is Bookworm Gardens because she loves how they make all the stories come to life. If Jade could go anywhere in the world, she would go to Canada, Japan, or Paris.

Jade’s favorite food is pickles, because she likes sweet things that can also be sour. Her favorite color is jade, “because it’s my name!” The most important thing Jade has learned so far in life is to speak up for herself. Her advice for younger kids at Club is “if someone tries to bully you, you should walk away or tell them you want them to stop.” Lydia stated that if she had three wishes, they would be 1) to be the best at ASMR, 2) to have unlimited Boba, and 3) to have google (the highest number in eternity) wishes!
