October 2024 Face of Great Futures
Nimrat is 10 years old and currently a 5th grader at Pier Elementary. She has been a Club member for a few years, and loves attending because she gets to spend extra time with friends and try new things every day! In addition to being our Face of Great Futures for the month of October, Nimrat has also been selected as one of five Youth of the Month winners at Pier, and is being recognized for modeling kindness and positivity under the Boys & Girl Club Value RESPECT. Let’s get to know Nimrat!
Who do you live with? My mom, dad, 11 year old sister, grandpa, and grandma.
Why do you think kids come to Club? Sometimes because their parents work and sometimes just for fun!
How do you like to spend your free time? Doing arts and crafts, and drawing. I love to draw cute stuff and have a tutorial book of how to draw cats, so I draw new one every day.
What are you good at? Math and art.
What do you like most about yourself? I like that I’m simple and normal.
What makes you feel happy or proud? When I achieve something. I’ve gotten all the answers right on a few of my tests.
What’s your favorite thing to learn in school? Math; I also love to read, but I don’t really enjoy reading as a subject.
What do you want to be when you grow up? Doctor or artist, or BOTH!
Best thing that’s ever happened to you? When I got to pick up my aunt at the airport at midnight because it was her first time flying here from India to visit us.
Favorite place you’ve ever been? To get Boba from Hang 10!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? China, or Paris, or any place that’s busy with lots of things to do.
Favorite food? I’m a picky eater. Maybe mac ‘n cheese?
Favorite color? Purple and black.
Most important thing you have learned so far in life? Just be nice. Nothing can go wrong if you’re nice to others.
Advice for younger Club kids? Try new things and be friendly to everyone.
If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? 1) The ability to fly, 2) to get all the art supplies I want, and 3) the ability to be invisible so I can wear my older sister’s clothes and she can’t see me!
We love having Nimrat as part of our Boys & Girls Club family and look forward to watching her grow and do amazing things! For more information about our youth programs and how to sign up, visit our Become a Member page!
