March 2025 Face of Great Futures
Charles is 7 years old and currently a 2nd grader at Rosenow Elementary. “Charles has been selected as our Face of Great Futures because he is a true ‘fan favorite’ at the Roberts Club site,” stated Miss Anna, Roberts extension director. “Everyone enjoys being around him because he’s such a kind and funny little human; he’s so deserving of this recognition!” Let’s get to know Charles!
Do you have any nicknames? Charlie, and my uncle calls me Chuck!
How long have you been a Club member? I started in 1st grade, so this is my second year.
Why do you think kids come to Club? To have fun, and because some people’s parents have to work a little later on some days.
Favorite thing about Club? I like Fun Fridays when we play dodgeball!
Who do you live with? I live with two Brittany Spaniel dogs named Ginger and Lucy; and also live with my dad, mom and 4 year old sister. Dad and I like to hunt and fish, and I sew and knit with my mom and sister.
How do you like to spend your free time? I really like swimming, especially up at the cabin. And I also like playing sports like baseball and hockey.
What are you good at? Hockey, baseball, swimming, Gaga ball, and four square.
What do you like most about yourself? That I like to help others.
What makes you feel happy or proud? Helping others.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I’ve rarely thought about that! But I think being a hunting and fishing guide would be cool.
Best thing that’s ever happened to you? So far, the time that me and my friend went to Tundra Lodge and toured Lambeau Field!
Favorite place you’ve ever been? Florida; we went iguana hunting, and it tastes like chicken!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Alaska
Favorite food? Hard-boiled eggs with salt and pepper.
Favorite color? Green, because my eyes are greenish. Also because it’s my mom’s favorite color so whenever she’s gone on work trips, it helps me remember her.
Most important thing you have learned so far in life? Francis Scott Key wrote the National Anthem.
Advice for younger Club kids? If you’re scared about your first day at Club, don’t be! It’s a really fun place and you get to do really fun things!
If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? 1) The ability to change the weather so it’s always between 50-70 degrees, 2) to never get sick so I don’t have to miss school, and 3) to travel around the world really fast while catching a lot of fish!
We love being a part of Charles’ journey, and we are excited to watch him grow and experience many adventures in life! For more information about our youth programs and how to sign up, visit our Become a Member page!
