June 2024 Face of Great Futures
Kinsley is 9 years old and will be a 4th grader at Waters Elementary this fall. She lives with her mom, dad, teenage brother, and their 17 year old cat “Jezebel”. Kinsley has been a Boys & Girls Club member in the summer program since she was in 2nd grade. She enjoys coming to Club in the summer because she gets to go on fun field trips, like swimming at the fairgrounds pool and ice skating for the first time at Blue Line Ice Center.
Kinsley loves to create art, put puzzles together and play games with her family. She also likes to kick around a soccer ball outside with her brother sometimes. She stated that she is good at drawing animals, sketching, painting, and playing soccer and tennis. Kinsley added that she is very flexible and can do a bridge by bending backwards while standing up; she can also do a really good round-off, and she’s currently involved in gymnastics to keep improving her skills. She feels happiest when she’s spending time with her cat, and she feels proud when she scores a soccer goal.
Kinsley’s favorite subject in school is art. When asked what she would like to be when she grows up, she stated “I think about becoming either a gymnastics teacher or an artist.” The most important lesson Kinsley has learned in life so far is “not to talk to strangers.” Her advice for younger kids at Club is “to be a little more quiet when your teachers are teaching you.”
Kinsley’s favorite place to visit is Disney World, her favorite color is green, and she loves to eat mac ‘n cheese and salad with croutons, cheese, and Hidden Valley ranch. Kinsley stated that if she had three wishes, they would be 1) to have another cat, 2) to go to Disneyland in California where her aunt lives, and 3) for her aunt to come home to visit!
We love having Kinsley as part of our Boys & Girls Club family and look forward to watching her grow and do GREAT things!
