January 2026 Face of Great Futures

Andrew (aka Andy or Drew) is 11 years old and currently a 5th grader at Riverside Elementary. He has been a Club member for the past three years and enjoys attending because of Math Hoops! Andrew was selected as this month’s Face of Great Futures because “he is a pure representation of our Club values and he adds a lot of light to the Club,” stated Miss Eltayana, Johnsonville elementary director. FUN FACT: Andrew was also selected as a Youth of the Month winner at our Johnsonville site back in November (see photo below). He was recognized for modeling the Boys & Girl Club Value BELONGING. Let’s get to know Andrew!

Who do you live with? My dad and older brother Terry. We don’t have any pets, but I want to get a puppy!

Why do you think kids come to Club? Their caregivers can’t get them from school and just because they like it here.

How do you like to spend your free time? At Club, I just have fun and get some time away from my brother. At home, I do my homework and like to play with my dad, cook dinner, and go outside.

What are you good at? Math Hoops, soccer, and football.

What do you like most about yourself? I am kind and loved.

What’s your favorite thing to learn in school? Art and music.

What makes you feel happy or proud? My friends make me happy, and I’m proud of my dad because he works hard.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Police officer!

Best thing that’s ever happened to you? When I get hurt and my family comes to help.

Favorite place you’ve ever been? The Club!

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? School or Club.

Favorite food? French toast sticks and sausage at Club!

Favorite color? Green, because my brother Preston likes it.

Most important thing you have learned so far in life? Math, and how to be a good listener.

Advice for younger Club kids? You got this and listen to the staff! Also, Math Hoops is fun!

If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? 1) To stay at school, 2) to stay at Club, and 3) to go to Paris, France.
