Fueling the Future: Club Awarded $50K Innovation Grant from FDLAF

The Boys & Girls Club prides itself on remaining flexible and always responding to the needs of the community quickly and effectively. This has been evident over the years in our attention to academic/learning needs, food insecurity, mental health needs and workforce readiness. This past month, the Fond du Lac Area Foundation rewarded that mindset by awarding the Club a $50,000 Innovation Grant for our new Life & Workforce Readiness program, Future Force. The award is one of two grants provided by the Foundation in celebration of their 50 years of service to the Fond du Lac community, and recognizes the effort the Club is making to ensure youth in our community are job ready as early as possible.

The Future Force program includes structured, job-readiness experiences that prepare youth for the workplace. Real-life work activities reinforce what participants learn in facilitator-led sessions and online training programs. Participants agree to a rigorous program structure, are held accountable for participation and are rewarded with a stipend at the end of multi-week program. Our goal through Future Force is to prepare youth through experiences that make them job ready and encourages the growth in pursuit of that first job experience.

Thank you to the Fond du Lac Area Foundation for their investment in our programs and our Club members!
