February 2026 Face of Great Futures

Elena is 11 years old and currently a 6th grader at Woodworth Middle School. She has been a Club member for five years, and loves attending because she likes the programs offered and enjoys spending time with Club staff. Elena has been selected as our Face of Great Futures this month because “she goes above and beyond the expectations in the Teen Center. She is always willing to participate in any and all programs, and she also helps translate with students at school and at Club; we appreciate everything she does!”, stated Miss Lexi, teen center site coordinator. Let’s get to know Elena!

Who do you live with? I live with my mom, dad, and two sisters.

How do you like to spend your free time? Playing volleyball!

What are you good at? Volleyball, science, and being kind and respectful.

What do you like most about yourself? That I’m helpful and help translate for students at school, home, and the Club.

What makes you feel happy or proud? Being kind and respecting others.

What’s your favorite thing to learn in school? Least favorite? Math is my favorite, and science is my least favorite.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Cosmetologist; I want to do nails!

Best thing that’s ever happened to you? My brother coming home from Miami.

Favorite place you’ve ever been? The beach, because we had lots of adventures and went on walks.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Arizona, because it seems nice there and has warm weather.

Favorite food? Alfredo, the way my mom makes it!

Favorite color? Pastel purple, because it makes me happy and makes moods brighter.

Most important thing you have learned so far in life? Don’t judge a book by its cover.

Advice for younger Club kids? Be yourself and do what is best for you!

If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? 1) Go to see my brother in Miami, 2) go to Arizona, and 3) see family that live in other places.

We love having Elena as part of our Boys & Girls Club family and we’re excited to watch her grow up to do GREAT things!
