The Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac held its 12th annual SPELL for Great Futures team spelling bee on July 30, 2025. Business and community leaders were randomly teamed up with Club members to compete in this year’s Minecraft themed event. Presented by Society Insurance and coupled with other numerous sponsorships from local businesses and individuals, the event raised over $45,000 to directly support the Club’s academic programs.

Friends and family of participants attended the event and were treated to a special introduction highlighting the 24 teams competing in the spelling bee, comprised of a total of 72 participants. Placing third in the spelling bee was Paul Reetz (Integrity Saw & Tool), Oliver LeCaptain and Isaac Krebsbach. Coming in second place was Jason Mayer (FVSBank), Troy Tellefsen and Dijuan Lacy. And placing first as this year’s Championship team was Tomessa Marley (Kiwanis Club of Fabulous Fond du Lac / The Arc Fond du Lac), Hamza Mahamed and Gabriel Judd.
