BGCFDL hires Food Service Coordinator
The Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac has added a food service coordinator to its growing leadership team. Brenda Myers has been selected to oversee the food service operations for all program locations within the organization to meet the nutritional needs of Club members and ensure the program follows policies and procedures to meet federal and state requirements. This position is extremely important as the organization serves nearly 70,000 snacks and meals to over 1,600 youth annually.
Having grown up in the area, Myers’ family relocated back to Fond du Lac in 2020 after spending ten years in central Illinois. Her introduction to the Boys & Girls Club came three years ago when her daughters expressed a desire to attend after school. She loved hearing about the fun they had and how eagerly they anticipated the next day. While she has spent a few years in the food service industry, Myers’ favorite experience was working as a lunch lady at Chegwin Elementary last year. She has always enjoyed interacting with children and is eager to witness the growth and learning of each Club member.
As the new food service coordinator, Myers is excited to bring her passion for nutrition and community service to the Boys & Girls Club. Her goal is to ensure that every child receives healthy and delicious meals that fuel their bodies and minds for a day full of activities and learning. Myers believes that proper nutrition is a cornerstone of both physical and mental well-being, and she is committed to creating menus that are both nutritious and appealing to the youth we serve.
“I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing organization. Beyond just serving meals, I am looking forward to collaborating with the amazing staff and volunteers at the Boys & Girls Club to create a warm and welcoming environment for all. I am confident that together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of the children and families we serve. Thank you for welcoming me into this wonderful community. I am truly honored to be a part of an organization that makes such a significant difference in the lives of so many. I look forward to all the incredible experiences and memories we will create together,” said Myers.
