August 2024 Face of Great Futures

Camden is 8 years old and will be a 3rd grader at Oakfield Elementary School this year. He has been a Club member for two summers and enjoys attending because of the fun program activities like coloring and the fact that he can see his Boys & Girls Club friends.

Camden happily participated in the water safety class at the YMCA this summer!

Camden lives with his mom, dad, 5 year old sister, two dogs named Oreo and Max, and a cat named Tigger. He loves to spend his time playing in the water when it’s summer and playing games like Clue with his family. When asked what he likes most about himself, Camden stated, “I’m unique!” Camden also shared that he feels happy with he gets a compliment from someone. For example, someone recently told him that his last name is pretty cool!

Camden is good at soccer and playing hide and seek with his little sister. His favorite subject in school is math while his least favorite is reading. When asked what he would like to be when he grows up, Camden immediately stated, “I’d like to be a football player in the NFL and play for the Miami Dolphins because my dad really likes the dolphins and I would be on his dream team.”

Camden and his BGC pals enjoyed some great field trips this summer, including a Blue Heron Boat Tour through the Horicon Marsh!

Camden shared that Wisconsin Dells is his favorite place to visit. If he could go anywhere in the world, he would visit Mexico because his grandparents went there and got to go horseback riding. Camden’s favorite color is blue and his favorite food is cheeseburgers, because “my parents said I should try something else other than chicken nuggets, so I ordered a cheeseburger and really liked it!”

When asked to share something important that he’s learned in life so far, Camden simply said “Be kind.” Camden’s advice for younger Club kids is to “always stay positive and be kind.” If Camden had three wishes, he would 1) wish for it to be summer every single day, 2) help people by carrying groceries and helping put them away, and 3) be as great as he can be!

We love having Camden involved in our summer program, wish him a wonderful upcoming school year, and hope to see him back at Club next summer!
