From Youth of the Year to Johnsonville Elementary Director

The Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac is thrilled to announce the promotion of Eltayana Wilson to the role of Johnsonville Elementary Director. Wilson has a long-standing history with the Boys & Girls Club and is the first alumni to join the organization’s leadership team. Her journey started in 2009 when she was just seven years old and in 1st grade. She began attending as a Club member at the former Franklin School location. Throughout the years, she has remained strongly connected and very involved in Club activities, and naturally became a positive role model for other Club members.

Wilson was named Youth of the Year twice during her years as a Club member, and landed her very first job helping out at the Chegwin site’s front desk in 2017. From there, she served as Program Aide from 2018-22, Program Coordinator from 2023-24, and most recently, Youth & Family Services Coordinator at the Johnsonville site. Each role provided her with opportunities to develop and grow her leadership skills, ultimately preparing her for this exciting next step.

As an alumni and someone who essentially grew up at the Boys & Girls Club, Wilson possesses a deep understanding of the organization’s mission and values, which foster a sense of belonging and purpose. This has allowed her to contribute to the organization in very meaningful ways over the years.

“The ability to become a mentor for kids at the same Boys & Girls Club that has and continues to play a pivotal role in my life is profoundly important to me for several reasons. First, it is an opportunity to give back to the community and people that nurtured my growth and development. The Club was not just a place for recreation; it was a sanctuary where I learned valuable life skills, made lifelong friendships, and discovered my true potential,” stated Wilson. “By stepping into a leadership role as the Johnsonville Elementary Director, I can continue to mentor and inspire young minds to dream bigger and reach higher. I want to show our youth that their circumstances do not define their futures; rather, it is their determination and hard work that will pave the way for success. And to all the Club kids with a dream, always remember to NEVER GIVE UP!”
