Teen Center Club Members Take on Washington, D.C.
This July, 20 members of our Teen Center traded their usual summer routine for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure: an all-expense-paid trip to our nation’s capital. Thanks to a Learning Journey Grant from Herb Kohl Philanthropies, our teens spent three unforgettable days exploring Washington, D.C.
Throughout their visit, the group toured the Washington Monument, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Jefferson, FDR, and MLK Memorials, the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln, Vietnam Veterans, and Korean War Veterans Memorials, Georgetown University, the Air Force and Marine Corps War Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Pentagon Memorial.
Over the course of three days, our teens stepped into the heart of American history.
