November 2022 Face of Great Futures

Jake is 10 years old and currently a 4th grader at Chegwin Elementary School. He has been a Club member since he was in 1st grade and enjoys attending because “it’s fun and I also get to have gym time and play soccer.” Jake lives in Fond du Lac with his mom, dad, three younger brothers, four cats, one kitten and a dog. He loves playing with his brothers, and going to his friend’s house on the weekends.

Jake (far right) posed with his Spell for Great Futures team as they geared up to compete in the Club’s annual spelling bee last month!

Jake describes himself as “kind” and shared that he is proud to have a lot of friends. He stated that his favorite subject in school is Math while his least favorite is Reading, and then added, “My friends are better at some subjects in school so they help me out, and I help them with Math because that’s what I’m good at.”

Jake’s favorite sport is baseball and his dream is to become a professional baseball player for the Milwaukee Brewers when he grows up. FUN FACT: Jake was accepted into the travel baseball league over the summer and got to play in different cities all over the state. His team even took 2nd place in the Waupaca tournament!

So far, Jake’s favorite place he’s ever visited is Korneli’s on the Avenue because “they have a bunch of fun games to play and I’m good at skating.” When asked to share something important that he’s learned in life thus far, Jake said “it’s important to always be safe, responsible, and respectful.” He stated that if he had three wishes, he would 1) go see a professional baseball game, 2) win $10 million and give it to his parents, and 3) ask for more wishes. Jake’s favorite food is dirty rice (because it has peppers in it!), his favorite colors are blue, black and red, and his advice for younger Club kids is to “try your best and don’t give up when you’re doing hard activities.”

We love being a part of Jake’s journey, and we know he will achieve GREAT success in his life! For more information about our youth programs and how to sign up, click HERE!
