Family Nights make a Comeback

The Club in partnership with the Fond du Lac Family YMCA has been thrilled to start offering Family Nights in our building again this school year. After a 2 year break due to COVID, once again families are able to spend time together at some of our most popular activities, Lights on Afterschool, the New Year’s Eve Bash, Father Daughter Date Night, Mother Son Outing and the Healthy Kids Day Carnival. So far we have seen over 300 people at each of the events that have been run!

Our first event was Lights on Afterschool, where we highlighted the importance of afterschool programs and activities in our community. We had 10 community partners participate in a trick or treat in the gym and put on our famous and SUPER scary Haunted House. Even the adults were screaming! At our New Year’s Eve Bash we were able to ring in the New Year with bounce houses, face painting, prizes and a balloon drop to round out the night.

Most recently we put on our Father Daughter Date Night where over 125 couples came to spend quality time together. Girls in dresses and guys in ties could be found dancing away the night in the gym. The girl’s dates were wearing Unicorn headbands and making butterfly clips and having the best time with the young ladies in their lives. There were ear to ear smiles on all of the girls’ faces!

Our family nights offer the opportunity to create unique bonding experiences and are free for our members and only $10 for families who are not members of either organization. Watch for our upcoming events, the Mother Son Outing in March and the Healthy Kids Day Carnival in April. If you have any questions please reach out to Karissa Schneider at kschneider@bgcfdl.org.
