Club Members Give Back

With ‘RESPONSIBILITY’ being one of our organizational values, it’s no surprise that our Boys & Girls Club believes strongly in finding ways to give back to the community that gives so much to us. This belief starts with our board of directors and leadership team, and trickles all the way down to the youth we serve each and every day.

Our Club members take a lot of pride in having the resources and ability to give back through our programs. It’s truly incredible to witness their excitement whenever they have a new opportunity to pursue. Here are just a few ways our Club members have given to our community over the past few months:

Chegwin Club members wrote letters to Veterans thanking them for their service to our country. These letters were sent to the VA hospital right just in time for Veterans Day in November. The kids’ hope was to bring smiles to as many veterans’ faces as possible!

Parkside Club members helped spread holiday cheer by making wreaths and then delivering them to the elderly residents at our local assisted living center. The wreaths turned out great and the kids were so excited to hang them on doors throughout the facility!

Pier Club members visited Harbor Haven and helped decorate cookies with the residents. We are not sure who enjoyed the conversations more…what a wonderful time!

Each Club site was assigned a themed tree for the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac’s “Trees Around the World”. Club members created handmade ornaments for their tree and then spent time at the Children’s Museum decorating it! All the trees turned out amazing…we love being a part of this event every year!

Club members from all sites signed up for several bell ringing shifts for the Salvation Army this year. The kids always have so much fun singing Christmas Carols, putting smiles on peoples’ faces, and helping raise more money for those in need who benefit from the wonderful services that the Salvation Army provides all year round!
