April 2026 Face of Great Futures

Alexander (aka Alex) is 9 years old and currently a 4th grader at Pier Elementary. He has been a Boys & Girls Club member for 4 years and has been selected as our Face of Great Futures because “he shows true commitment to the Club. He is always willing to help other members with games and projects,” said Mr. Dave, Pier extension director. Let’s get to know Alexander!

Why do you think kids come to Club? Parents need to work so kids come until their parents can pick them up.

Who do you live with? Mom, Dad, Grandpa, and two sisters who also both come to Club. Mom is going to have another baby, so I will have three sisters soon.

What is your favorite thing about Club? Extra time outside and reading.

How do you like to spend your free time? Go outside and watch TV.

What are you good at? Sports; soccer and football, but soccer is my favorite.

What do you like most about yourself? The way I dress, and also that I’m kind and I follow rules.

What makes you feel happy or proud? The first time I wrote a paragraph.

What’s your favorite thing to learn in school? Least favorite? Literacy and science are my favorite. Social studies is my least favorite.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Unsure right now, but maybe a soccer player.

Best thing that’s ever happened to you? Having another sister.

Favorite place you’ve ever been? Cancun, Mexico.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Disney World in Florida.

Favorite color? Teal, because it’s a light and dark color.

Most important thing you have learned so far in life? Never give up!

Advice for younger Club kids? Respect everyone, both kids and staff.

If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? I only have one wish, and that is to go to Disney World!
