Reach for the Stars a Sweet Success!
The 16th annual Reach for the Stars Dinner & Auction took place on February 23, 2024 and was an incredible evening for our Boys & Girls Club. Presented by Grande Cheese and Mercury Marine, along with numerous sponsorships from local businesses and individuals, Reach for the Stars raised over $140,000 in support of our Club’s summer youth programs. A significant portion of the proceeds raised through the event stemmed from the “Sponsor a Child” summer scholarship promotion which raised over $36,000 (and counting)! This helps to ensure that ALL youth are able to access our summer programs.
Highlights of the evening consisted of an inspiring speech delivered by our 2023-24 Youth of the Year, Stephany Lopez, and a special performance by a group of our Club youth, accompanied by Siera Williams. Dan Hebel, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club, also provided a brief update on the impact and continued growth of the Club’s mental health and social emotional learning initiatives, workforce development program development, school district partnership to meet all afterschool child care needs, and exciting expansion plans for the renowned partnership between the Fond du Lac Family YMCA and Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac.
Reach for the Stars included an online silent auction and an exciting raffle for a chance to win a “Door County Experience” package, won by Mindy Ausloos! Event attendees enjoyed a complimentary glass of champagne upon their arrival courtesy of The Hive, and also had the opportunity to participate in our Sweet 16 Dessert Auction. There were 16 delicious desserts generously provided by Annie’s Fountain City Catering, Bonnie Federman, Bryanna’s Bakery, CC’s Chocolates, Gail Sharpe, Gilles Frozen Custard, Just Put It In Your Mouth Craft Donuts, Katie Cakes Bakes, Katie Pachefsky, Lollycakes, Mix It Up Bakery, Molly Haack, Randall’s Cakes, and Suzy’s Cream Cheesecakes.
Our entire Boys & Girls Club family would like to thank everyone who made this year’s event possible, especially our event sponsors and auction contributors, as well as our partners at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center for their hospitality and Sam Lauersdorf Photography for capturing the evening.
